Irish poised for weekend medal hunt at Badminton
The Irish are poised to make an assault on the Badminton leaderboard ahead of the weekends cross country and jumping phases, with a number of combinations within striking distance of the medal positions.Georgie Goss is best of the Irish, with her mare Feloupe scoring 30.8 penalties after an excellent test.Goss said: I was delighted with the horse, shes always so consistent and relaxed in the arena. We had one slight mistake in a change but otherwise a really pleasing test and Im looking forward to the rest of the competition.Lucy Latta and RCA Patron Saint, runners-up here in 2024, are next best on 31.9 penalties, and she was very happy with her mounts test.Latta said: Im delighted. The horse gave me everything he had and was really rideable. He can get worried in the atmosphere, but this is his third five-star and hes getting used to the big stadiums. He had some lovely flying changes and a good canter. I have taken a career break because the horse is now 15 and I want to enjoy him a bit at five-star level.Lucy Latta riding RCA Patron Saint During the MARS Badminton Horse Trials May 2026. Pic: Badminton Paris Olympian Sarah Ennis is looking forward to tomorrows cross county phase with Grantstown Jackson, especially with the course setup appearing to be configured in her favour. She will enter phase two on 34.5 penalties.Ennis said: Im so proud of him, it isnt easy for him and its been a long road with him but Im very proud, he just had one little moment. He was trending third after the flat work, which I was thrilled with because a lot of work has been done on that. Its not going to be a dressage competition, Im sure the leaderboard will turn upside down. Im looking forward to it.Last year we didnt have the best cross country but the year before that he was amazing and were going back that direction again and maybe it will suit him to go left handed.Austin OConnor and Sixmilewater are next best, just one place behind on 34.8 penalties, followed by Padraig McCarthy with 38.2 and Sam Watson follows him with Ballyneety Rocketman finishing on 39.6 penalties.HSI High Performance Eventing Manager Sam Griffiths was pleased overall with the Irish combinations and is looking forward to the weekend. He said: On the whole Im very happy with how the dressage phase has gone, we did some really solid tests and its going in the right direction. The good thing about the cross country this year at Badminton is that the going is perfect and it will make for a great day of sport. Its typical Badminton big and bold a lot of intensity and it will be big fence after big fence so weve got some good horses and were hoping for some good performances tomorrow. So far so good! The post Irish poised for weekend medal hunt at Badminton appeared first on .

    Stallions in Focus Livello
Horse Sport Ireland is delighted to name the 5-Star rated stallion Livello as Aprils Stallion of the Month.Livello was bred by Michael Tolle in Weitewelt, a small, rural village located in the Segeberg district of Schleswig-Holstein, Livello is by Limbus (HOLST), the 1.60m jumping stallion ridden by Bo Kristoffersen for Denmark. His dam, Zocka (HOLST) is by Ahorn Z (HANN) and is the dam of six foals, of which three had performance careers; Chablis T (HOLST) and Godot T (HOLST) who both competed at 1.30m. Her most famous progeny was Livello himself. He stands now in the heart of the Irish midlands in Belmont, Co. Offaly with Andrea Etter of Belmont House Stud.Livello age 27 at Belmont House StudLivello lives with his best friend Bear, who clearly runs the show. A true testament to his characterkind, patient, and gentle with his little pony companion. When I asked his long-time groom Christine from the Holsteiner Verband about Livellos temperament, she smiled and said hes the kind of stallion you could take with you for a pinta real friend. What really gave me confidence in using Livello on our own mares was seeing his former rider, Cameron Hanley, send his own top mares to be covered by him.It was with Cameron Hanley that S.I.E.C Livello, owned by the Sabanci International Equestrian Centre in Turkey, burst onto the international scene. They had their first notable international result when, as only an 8-year-old, the stallion finished second in the Grand Prix at the 2007 CSIO4* show in Copenhagen. This form was continued in 2008 when they recorded Top 10 finishes in the Grand Prix classes at the CSI3* shows in Giubiasco (SUI), Donaueschingen (GER), and Braunschweig (GER).In June 2009 the pairing of Hanley and S.I.E.C Livello made their debut as part of the Irish team in the Nations Cup that finished fifth. Their next outing was again as part of an Irish team in a Nations Cup when they travelled north to Falsterbo, Sweden where they were part of the winning team there. The duo improving on a 5-fault first round to jump an all-important clear in the second round. That result secured the pair their place in the Irish team at the 2009 European Championships in the shadow of Windsor Castle where they finished best of the Irish in individual fourth place, a single time fault in the final agonisingly keeping them away from a bronze medal. From there, the duo won the 1.55m Grand Prix at the CSI4* in Kiel, Germany, and had a Top 10 finish in a 1.50m Jump-Off class at the CSI5*-W in London Olympia in what was the second last show together for Hanley and S.I.E.C Livello. With Cagri Basel in the saddle, S.I.E.C Livello switched to represent Turkey internationally and in 2010, they were part of the team that represented Turkey at the World Equestrian Games in Kentucky, U.S.A.2012 saw him change nationality once more when he moved to the stable of Swedens Angelica Augustonsson, and he returned to Irish shores to feature on the Swedish team that competed in that years Aga Khan Nations Cup in the RDS Dublin Horse Show where their clear first round contributed to Sweden, France and Ireland being tied for the lead ahead of Round 2. Irish heroics sealed the home victory that day, as Sweden finished in 7th.Livello retired from international competition in 2013 at 14 years of age. His final Grand Prix being the CSIO5* Grand Prix of Falsterbo where Augustsson and Livello achieved a 13th place finish.Livellos first crop of foals were born in 2004, with his first Irish progeny being born in 2008. The performance of his progeny have earned Livello the 5* SJ PP merit with the Irish Sport Horse Studbook to go alongside his own 5* SJ OP merit. From that first crop of Irish-bred Livello foals came Lapuccino 2 (ISH) who was ridden at international level by Co. Mayos Michael G. Duffy. Lapuccino and Duffy have recorded wins at in the Nations Cup at the CSIO3* in Drammen (NOR) in 2020, and won the 1.60m Grand Prix at the CSI4* in Vejer De La Frontera (ESP) in 2021. He recorded Top 10 places in the 1.60m Sport Ireland Classic at the RDS Dublin Horse Show in 2018, as well as the 1.60m Grand Prix classes at the CSI5*GCT/GCL in Hamburg (GER) 2021, Amsterdam (NED) CSI5*-W 2020, Stockholm City (SWE) CSI5*GCT/GCL 2019, Geneva (SUI) CSI5*-RGS 2017, London Excel (GBR) CSI5*-W (2021), Rome, Circo Massimo (ITA) CSI5*GCT/GCL 2021 and La Coruna (ESP) CSI5*-W 2019.Lapuccino 2 (ISH) & Michaewl G. Duffy (IRL) 2021 CSI 5Star GCT RomeAnother of Livellos high performing progeny also includes FTS Killossery Konfusion (ISH), the 2025 Belgian National Champion. The dam of FTS Killossery Konfusion is Killossery Kruisette (ISH)[TIH] by Cruising (ISH)[TIH] who competed at international level in her own right for Capt. David OBrien of the Irish Equitation School. For Belgiums Jos Verlooy, FTS Killossery Konfusion has taken victory in 1.55m Grand Prix classes in the CSI4* and CSI3* shows in Thermal CA (USA) in 2025. The duo also won the 1.50m Grand Prix classes at Maastricht (NED) CSI4* 2023 and Leipzig (GER) CSI3*. He was also 2nd in the 1.60m Grand Prix at the CSI5*-W in Thermal, and 2nd in the CSI4* Liege (BEL) 1.55m Grand Prix in 2025. He was 2nd in a 1.55m Two Round Class in Stuttgart (GER) in 2023. They have also taken Top 10 placings in 1.60m, 1.55m and 1.50m classes at shows across North America and Europe including Monterrey (MEX) CSI5* MLSJ 2024, Rotterdam (NED) CSI5* LLN 2025, Lyon (FRA) CSI5*-W 2021, La Coruna (ESP) CSI5*-W 2021.Killossery Konfusion & Jos Verlooy CSI3 1m50In 2020, Livello had the distinction of siring two progeny that were on the same Nations Cup team for Ireland when they took the third-place spot on the podium at the CSIO3* Nations Cup in Vejer De La Frontera (ESP). Those two horses were Lapuccino 2 (ISH) with Michael G. Duffy and ESI Toulouse (ISH), ridden on the day Livellos very own Cameron Hanley! At stud in Ireland since 2020 and still going strong in 2026, Andrea tells us:Considering his ripe age of 27, its remarkable how modern Livello still feels. He has so much blood, combined with an uphill trot and canter, making him a stallion who consistently improves not only the three paces but also the rideability in his progeny. If we have a mare that is difficult to get in foal, our first choice is still Livellohis fertility is exceptional and consistently reliable. From a relatively small crop of Irish-born 5-year-old progeny, we are excited to have a stallion son of Livello called Mc Spencer B, a horse we think very highly of.The post Stallions in Focus Livello appeared first on .

    Stallions in Focus Moylough Legacy
Horse Sport Ireland is pleased to announce the Class 1 Irish Draught stallion Moylough Legacy as Aprils Irish Draught Stallion of the Month.Moylough Legacy is by Carrabawn Cross (IDC1) and is out of Ardcarne Vilamear (RID) by Castana (IDC1).Bred in Co. Roscommon by John Gilboy, Moylough Legacy is owned by Patrick Hoare in Ballinasloe, Co. Galway. In 2016, Moylough Legacy earned his Class 1 status at the Horse Sport Ireland Stallion Selections in Cavan Equestrian Centre and then went on to win the Irish Draught Stallion Class at the RDS Dublin Horse Show in 2023 and became a Gold Merit stallion for his progenys achievements in 2024.Moylough Legacy winning the Irish Draught Stallion Class at the RDS Dublin Horse ShowSpeaking to Horse Sport Ireland about the stallion, Patricks daughter, Kate, gave us a little more insight into the history of Moylough Legacys history and future plans. My dad, Pat, and I are lucky to have two Class 1 RID Stallions and when I got asked to do this piece, I didnt know which one to pick a very fortunate position to be in! Given Moylough Supremacy garnered much attention after his back-to-back Champion titles in Dublin the last two years I decided to give the honour to the original and his older big brother Moylough Legacy. We always try and buy a couple of nice draught colts every year. I remember seeing Legacy advertised as a foal. I have a soft spot for a liver chestnut with a bit of bling so this ID colt for sale in Roscommon fitted the bill! I was in college in Dublin at the time and rang home giving instructions to go and get him bought. My cousin Sean Hoare went to see him with my dad who often recalls that Sean whispered stallion material when he saw him. Ten years later Sean would show Legacy to win the Irish Draught Stallion Class in Dublin so he obviously had a good eye! I actually didnt see him until he arrived home a few weeks later and I remember saying he was the nicest foal to come in to the yard he still holds this title!I always keep a list of potential names to use on horses some held for special ones and so this 2013 ID colt was christened Moylough Legacy.Legacy was bred by the late John Gilboy from Boyle in County Roscommon. John was a stalwart of the Irish draught breed and is very much missed ringside at the shows and sales with his biro in hand taking down the scores. Legacy is by Carrabawn Cross who was a relatively young stallion at the time and John said he chose him as he received the highest linear scores on the day of his inspections. So, the system must be working!Legacy was different to some of our other youngsters. I often find many yearlings and two-year-olds go a bit gangly and funny looking but Legacy never did he literally got more quality every day. He was often the one picked out by potential customers who came to look at young horses. We were pressed hard to sell him as a two-year-old to the UK as a show horse but decided to keep him what a different story that would have been.Legacy continued to bloom and he went up for inspections in 2016 achieving Class 1 status. It takes a lot of time, money and effort to get a colt to that level, so it was extremely fulfilling to achieve this. I attended the HSI inspections last week as a spectator and this was evident from many owners presenting colts who were clearly delighted when they achieved Class 1.We have had some amazing days in Dublin with Legacy. He was third there in 2016 on his debut as a three-year-old. We were thrilled with him as we didnt expect anything that day as he was so young. His sire Carrabawn Cross actually won the class the same day for PJ Fitzpatrick so a father and son in the first three was a great achievement.Legacy has had a great record in Dublin always being in the ribbons. He won the elusive Dublin Red rosette in 2023 after being the bridesmaid on many occasions a very memorable day.Probably the best part of being a stallion owner is seeing their horses progeny go on well and that is a huge aspect to promoting the stallion to get more mares and more importantly better mares every year. Legacys progeny have definitely done their sire proud with some fantastic results to include; a Dublin Champion, two Dublin winners, two National Show Supreme Champions, four all Ireland Champion titles and three Balmoral winners. In 2024 he was awarded a Gold Merit from HSI for his progenys achievements. It was down to the breeders who choose Legacy and the producers who brought his progeny to this level that allowed for this so thank you.Last week his son Coom View Legacy bred by Shane Connolly and owned by Sean OSullivan was approved a Class 1 RID Stallion at the HSI Stallion Inspections. He also has a son Dowdstown Moy standing as a stallion in America for Jordan Ellis.Legacy has also proved popular with thoroughbred and half-bred mare owners with his daughter Cois Luna being awarded TIH Horse of the year at the 2025 Showing awards for Sarah Lang, Tom Power and new owner Alastair Finlay. The ID/TB cross was the original cross for the Irish sport horse with the draught often deemed the backbone to the Irish sport horse industry. This cross had lost some momentum, but I think there is a swing back to this in recent years especially with the promotion of classes by the Traditional Irish Horse Association.Another aspect of owning a stallion is the number of connections you make and the people you meet along the way. I think this is actually my dads favourite part of owning a stallion. We were very fortunate to come across Moylough Legacy, his temperament is so good at times I think he is almost human. We often laugh that he is always posing for the camera with his ears pricked, eyes on the prize and I can often see the same characteristics in many of his progeny. It was because of Legacy turning out so well that we asked John Gilboy for first refusal on another colt and thats how we got his younger full brother Moylough Supremacy, so we have a lot to thank him for.We have had great days with Legacy and hopefully more to come in the future. The season is about to kick off and he has his first few mares covered and the first of this years crop of foals are starting to hit the ground so exciting times ahead.Horse Sport Ireland would like to join Kate in wishing all stallion owners and breeders the very best of luck for the breeding season ahead. The post Stallions in Focus Moylough Legacy appeared first on .

Ireland third in EEF Nations Cup
McEvoy a five-star winner with Breen, Allen and Coyle also victoriousIrelands fine Nations Cup form continued yesterday with another podium finish in the Longines EEF Nations Cup at Mannheim.Jessica Krtens team of Matt Garrigan with Grace V, Max Wachman on board Tipperary, Lt Michaeli Byrne with the Irish Sport Horse MSH Claregalway and Niall Talbot with Charming Dream Z finished third behind hosts Germany, who finished as the only team on a zero score. On a final tally of four faults after a perfect second round, the Irish were only pipped by Belgium to the runners-up spot on time difference.Ireland were well positioned following the first round of jumping on a score of four faults and produced under pressure after the break as Wexford native, Lt Byrne and Wachman, from Tipperary, both completed double clear performances with Dubliner Garrigan also faultless second time around. It meant Kildare pilot Talbot couldnt improve the team total but when the German and Belgian anchor riders came home clear, a bronze medal was secure, as well as a fine beginning to the EEF Series campaign.Yesterdays regional qualifier result sees Ireland pick up valuable points as the team builds towards the goal of competing at the final in Avenches, Switzerland in September.Niamh McEvoy was the big individual winner among the Irish athletes competing around the world, with a stunning triumph on board Julius at the prestigious five-star Longines Global Champions Tour show in Shanghai yesterday. There was a strong field for the 1.45m speed class as expected on the third stage of the LGCT championship race and after participating in the League and individual classes, the Tyrone native based with at Greg Brodericks Ballypatrick Stables put an exclamation mark on a memorable experience with a fantastic success.McEvoy and Julius had the standard of 64.2 set by Sophie Hinners (GER) and Iron Dames Kaleni Jo to aim at and after clearing 15 jumping efforts around the Shanghai Juss International Equestrian Center, they did just that, stopping the timers in 63.87.There was lucrative five-star fare in Monterrey too, with the grand finale of the Major League Show Jumping series and points counting double in both the individual and team competitions.Shane Sweetnam, from Cork originally, has been a regular in Grand Prix jump-offs in North America for a sustained period, and indeed, on podiums, with those results helping to propel him to No 7 in the world rankings. Coriaan Van Klapscheut Z has been prominent in providing those much valued ranking points and he was front and centre once more as they registered a top-five finish in the $750,000 Grand Prix in Mexico on Saturday.Only eight survived the initial examination. They included Galwegian Michael Duffy, with Mister Querly Z, but they had a rail down in 42.69 and so had to settle for seventh.Sweetnam and Coriaan also made one jumping error but their faster four faults bagged fifth position.Only three combinations managed double clears and it was former Irish chef quipe, Brazilian legend Rodrigo Pessoa who took top honours, along with Prins Vant Eigenlo. The USA duo, Marilyn Little, with La Contessa, and Kent Farrington, with Descartes SR, completed a high-class podium. In the earlier stages of the show, Derry rider Jordan Coyle led an Irish 1-2 in a 1.45m two-star class, combining with King Kannan GP to beat off Down native Conor Swail and Theo 160 with a jump-off time of 34.54, compared to his fellow Ulstermans 35.45.Swail would subsequently post a clear round on Casturano to help his team, the Trelawny Trailblazers, finish third in the $200,000 MLSJ team event. The Irish team that finished third in the Longines EEF Nations Cup in MannheimShane Breen emerged from Le Lame Horses Sporting Club in Montefalco with a four-star triumph on Saturday, the elder of the renowned Tipperary show jumping siblings doing the business on his 10-year-old mare, Be Alcantara. There were 65 athletes signed up for this 1.45m speed class, and the margins were extremely tight. Derry pilot, David Simpson maintained his fine run of consistency in recent times by jumping to fourth with Pjotr van de Kruishoeve, the duo going clear in 64.32.It was all about fine margins, as evidenced by the fact that Simpson wasnt far from the winning time but still could not make the podium. Breens experience showed as he found the inches and hundredths to go clear in 63.67 to ensure an airing of Amhrn na bhFiann in Italy.Billy Twomey piloted promising young gelding Corrindubh Brother In Arms (ISH) to fifth of 55 in a two-phase class at the show on Thursday. A total of 20 of the 55 participants posted double clears but the Cork athlete and his nine-year-old bred in Sligo by Noel Ruane and owned by John Chadwick, were among the most rapid in the jump-off, with a time of 29.08.It was a 1-2-3 for the home riders on the opening international class of the four-star show, with victory going to Elia Simonetti on Li La Bo.Twomey just missed out on a top-five return when sixth with Ace Of Hearts Z in a 1.50m jump-off class, with Trevor Breen in seventh on Kannoon Blue.Harry Allen was a three-star winner at Sentower Park on Thursday with Lukaku Vd Bisschop, who has been a stalwart for the Aloga Stables operation. The 15-year-old gelding and his Wexford rider were just under a full second clear of The Netherlands Amanda Slagter with Pippa Van De Zandhoeve in a 1.45m speed class sponsored by the winning owners. The duo left all the fences upright in the Oakland Arena and clocked 63.50, which was more than enough to garner the major ribbon, from a field of 98.Allen returned to the Oudsbergen podium the following day, when steering Edison de Hus to second in a 1.50m jump-off class. The 24-year-old and his Conrad gelding were flawless over the obstacles and while their time of 37.36 was almost three seconds off that recorded by Daniel Deusser and Bingo Ste Hermelle in the tiebreaker, it was still enough for the silver medal.Cian OConnors visit to the Belgian arena paid off with a runner-up finish in the Prijs Connollys Red Mills Grand Prix yesterday. The Meath-based Kildare native was among the favourites once he qualified for the decider with Kentucky, along with eight other combinations. The difficulty was, that the Irish representatives were first into the ring, meaning there was no evidence to go on when OConnor charted his path, while he was also the pathfinder for his opponents. As it turned out, the Olympic medallist nearly pulled it off and his second clear in 36.90 was far too fast for four of the five other pairings that recorded faultless rounds.Alix Ragot (FRA) was the exception though, and in Gueule dAmours, he had a horse capable of answering his call to take the spoils in 36.22.Mikey Pender was in the money at the three-star show in Arouca with Madgeslane Louis (ISH), a horse close to his heart as the owner/breeder. The Kildare athlete and his nine-year-old son of Luidam secured second in the 1.45m speed class at the Quints Equestrian Center in Portugal on Friday, going clear in 59.84 seconds, with Pedro Veniss (BRA) a comfortable victor along with Duelante 3K.Pender combined with another Irish Sport Horse, Thomascourt Victor to bag the bronze in a two-phase competition on Saturday. Bred by Catherine Thornton in Fermanagh, the eight-year-old showed accuracy and pace to post a double clear in 26.42. That was only just more than half a second slower than the winning time recorded by Armando Trapote (SPA) with Matilda. The week ended with another podium for the Castledermot rider and an Irish-bred horse, this time combining with Starfield Brighteye (ISH), produced in Westmeath by Lino Orlandi, for third in the Grand Prix. Trapote was the victor once more, guiding Nasa de Toxandria to a double clear and a jump-off time of 33.99, with Pender and Starfield Brighteye slotting into third with a time of 34.64.BREEDING:MSH CLAREGALWAY (ISH) 2015 gr mare by Cornet Obolensky (BWP) out of Lady Acobat (HOLST) by Acobat II (HOLST). Sweetnam and Wachman on form
Some notable two-star wins too on another good weekThe eighth and penultimate leg of Major League Show Jumping got under way at the Kentucky International venue in Lexington and Shane Sweetnam departed with a little more lucre in his coffers thanks to some strong results at the prestigious five-star international competition. The Castlemagner man kicked off with a fourth-place finish on Pegina VD Bisschop in Friday nights individual speed class, their time of 67.66 less than a second off the podium in the contest won by Eduardo Pareira De Menezes (BRA) with H5 Kontador VDM, who stopped the clock in 65.68.In Sundays Grand Prix, the World No 7 got the leg-up on his trusty steed, the Gizmo Partners-owned James Kann Cruz (ISH), bred in Galway by Patrick Connolly. As is his wont, the 2024 Olympic horse barely rubbed a pole and posted another double clear, and with that another Grand Prix podium. The pair (below) stopped the timers in 40.71 seconds for third, splitting Americans McLain Ward with High Star Hero, and Laura Kraut, with Una Mariposa. It was another local favourite, Kent Farrington that took the honours, Descartes SR just having too many gears for the rest of the field to take top spot from a stacked field of 41 with a time of 39.92.There was more five-star fare in Europe, in the princely surroundings of Fontainebleau and again, it was a high-calibre affair. Bertram Allen bagged a top-five in Fridays Prix Normandie Drainage, a 1.55m speed class won by Austrias Max Khner and Elektric Blue P, with a clear in 69.12.Enniscorthy pilot Allen and his 10-year-old left all the rails up and recorded a time of 71.66 for a juicy share of the prize money.Tom Wachman improved upon that result in the final class of the day, the Prix Cheval TV. This was decided by very small margins with less than half a second separating the podium finishers in what was a 1.50m speed class. It was Khner that took the honours once more, this time steering Kurt DZ to a clear in 58.52.Petronella Andersson (SWE) claimed the silver medal with a time of 58.68 on Odina Van Klapscheut, while Wachman, from Goolds Cross, followed in close order with Oboras Laura (below), in 58.99.Le Lames Horses Sporting Club hosted the four-star show at Montefalco and Billy Twomey guided Ace Of Heartzs Z to a runner-up return in a 1.50m jump-off class on Friday. Kristen Vanderveen (USA) took the lions share of the prize money with a clear in 38.78 in the tiebreaker.Cork-born Twomey and his grey stallion were faultless over the obstacles only six of the 73 contestants managed double clears and a time of 39.78 earned second position. On Saturday, Derry native, David Simpson just missed out on a podium in a 1.45m speed class, partnering Billy Fern to fourth with a clear in 67.6, which was just six-tenths of Malin Baryard-Johnsson (SWE) and CCStuds Liisolde in third. Ramzy Al Duhami (KSA) was victorious with Addressee, setting an unbeatable standard of 66.04.As her uncle was performing so well on the other side of the Atlantic, Abbie Sweetnam was victorious in the 1.45m Grand Prix at Sentower Park on Sunday. Riding Kiritan, the Cork athlete proved a resounding victor, her 11-year-old posting a double clear and then blitzing a challenging pack led by none other than Belgian winning machine, Gilles Thomas, with Riesling Van T Roosakker, in the jump-off, the time of 42.24 more than two seconds better than the notable runner-up.Conor Swail was part of a most dramatic class at the two-star show in Monterrey, where one of those rarest of events, the dead-heat unfolded on Friday. The Darragh Cross native, riding the Ollie Glancy-owned Clonterm Obolensky bred in Ashbourne by Brian Duff propelled his partner to a double clear in the 1.45m test and a time of 43.03 in the jump-off but that was matched to the hundredth of a second by Brazils Rodigro Lambre, with Take-Off Diara PS.There was a notable double in Arouca for Kilkenny-based Molly Hughes Bravo, daughter of former Team Ireland Aga Khan Cup winner Marion Hughes and Portuguese rider Miguel Bravo and representing the country of her father. The 23-year-old and the nine-year-old Irish Sport Horse bred by her parents under the Bravo Hughes banner, HHS Mercedes, followed up Fridays triumph in the 1.45m speed class by securing Sundays Grand Prix at the two-star show at the Quints Equestrian Center.BREEDINGCSF JAMES KANN CRUZ (ISH) 2013 gelding by Kannan (KWPN) out of CSF Telly Cruz (ISH) by Cruising (ISH)[TIH].
