Horse Sport Ireland (HSI) extends its warmest congratulations to nominee Niall Blaney upon his re-election to Seanad ireann, and looks forward to working with the Senator over the next five years. Fianna Fil Senator Blaney, who was nominated by both Horse Sport Ireland and ICOS for the 2025 Seanad election, served on the Seanads Agricultural Panel in 2020 and was successfully re-elected last weekend. Along with Fine Gael Councillor Tim Durkan (Kildare), Donegal Senator Blaney was one of two nominations put forward to the Seanad by HSI, and secured his seat in the hotly contested election which saw 29 candidates contest for 11 seats on the Agricultural Panel. Previously, Senator Blaney held the position of co-chair of the British/Irish Parliamentary Assembly from 2007 until 2011.
