Jessica Krten has named the Irish squad that will compete at the FEI World Jumping Championship in Aachen, Germany next month.The Irish squad heads to one of the sports most prestigious championships boasting proven championship and Olympic experience as well as outstanding recent form, aiming to build on a successful season on the international stage.The Irish squad competing at the FEI World Jumping Championship, in alphabetical order, is:Bertram Allen with Qonquest De RigoDarragh Kenny with Eddy BlueCian OConnor with Chatolinue PSShane Sweetnam with James Kann Cruz (ISH)Denis Lynch, with Vistogrand, has been named as travelling reserve, while Daniel Coyle with Gisbourne VDL, and Jordan Coyle with Chaccolino (in alphabetical order) have been selected as non-travelling reserves.The selected squad heads to Aachen on the back of an outstanding run of performances at the highest level of international jumping.Allen and Qonquest De Rigo have established themselves among the sports leading combinations, with the 10-year-old showing his class as Ireland secured a podium finish in the prestigious five-star Barriere Nations Cup in La Baule earlier this year.Kenny arrives in Aachen in exceptional form with Eddy Blue, having jumped double-clear in the five-star Agria Nations Cup at Falsterbo last Friday.Olympic medallist OConnor and Chatolinue PS have enjoyed an impressive campaign themselves, highlighted by an outstanding fourth-place finish in the five-star Rolex Grand Prix of La Baule.Fresh from a breathtaking maiden five-star Grand Prix win at Falsterbo, world number five Sweetnam and the Irish Sport Horse James Kann Cruz head to Germany full of confidence. Their recent success cements their status as one of the worlds elite combinations.Allen, Kenny, OConnor and Sweetnam were the four athletes who combined to secure Irelands podium finish in the five-star FEI Nations Cup at La Baule earlier this season. Their performances throughout 2026 have demonstrated the consistency that will give Irish supporters plenty of confidence heading into the championship.The reserve combinations further underline the current depth in Irish jumping.
