Horse Sport Irelands (HSI) online digital passporting service, Horse Source, has reached a major milestone as it processed its 10,000th foal registration this week.Since its inception as a platform in the summer of 2024, Horse Sources capabilities have been expanding and improving, and the 10,000th processed foal application is a testament to the incredible work carried out by the Registrations Unit of HSI.In further good news, Horse Source has also now processed over 5,000 change of ownership applications, as well as more than 1,100 endorsements and more than 1,200 name changes.2025 has seen the system provide a more efficient service for Irish breeders, with most applications processed below the anticipated and expected waiting times provided in HSIs service level agreement.Chief Executive, Denis Duggan, was keen to praise breeders for their uptake of the system this year, as well as thanking the registrations team of HSI.He said: The staff have done an excellent job this year, and that is reflected by the numbers of foal applications processed and the efficiency in getting the completed passports out to our breeders.We asked breeders to embrace this new system and to be patient and understanding as we made the transition to Horse Source, which they have. Now the benefits of Horse Source are being reaped, with much lower turnaround times.We are pleased with some of the positive feedback from breeders. We have also identified some areas for improvement in the process, and we will continue to refine and enhance it ahead of 2026.HSI continues to strive to add new elements to Horse Source and there will be some exciting additions in the coming months, but for now I would like to commend breeders, and our staff, for helping us deliver this system and making Horse Source a success.To celebrate reaching the milestone, HSI will be rewarding the breeder of the 10,000th foal processed with a free foal passport, and will be contacting that breeder in the coming days to inform and thank them.The post Horse Source hits 10,000 foal passport registration milestone appeared first on .
