It opens doors: Scholarship for talented crafters opens for applications
The annual Abbey England Scholarship is now open for applications for its 2025/26 programme.Designed to celebrate and showcase talented makers and crafters, such as saddlers and leatherworkers, at the outset of their careers, successful candidates will receive 500 worth of product from the company for them to invest in quality tools to help them develop their skills.Abbey England is an international supplier of premium artisan leatherwork and equestrian products and tools. Last years scholarship received nearly 40 entries showcasing products from bespoke leather equestrian saddles, headcollars and bridles through to fashion purses, shoes, bags, clothes and belts.The recognition Ive received has opened doors, started conversations, and inspired me to share my craft more openly, said the 2024/25 winner Katy Warriner. Most of all, its reminded me why I do what I do the joy of making, the history in every stitch, and being part of the community that keeps these traditions alive. For me, its been a year of growth, gratitude, and graft. The application should also include a photo of the applicant and examples of their work.Submissions should be made by Friday 24 October, 2025.
