BBC to broadcast next weeks European eventing championships
The Agria FEI Eventing European Championships take place on British soil for the first time in 10 years next week, at Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire (17-21 September). If you cant attend in person but want to follow all the action on TV, heres how you can do just that.UK viewersFor UK viewers, the good news is that the BBC has announced that it will broadcast cross-country and showjumping phases live on BBC iPlayer, the BBC Sport website and the app. Coverage will also be available to watch on demand for 30 days after the conclusion of the competition.BBC broadcast schedule (all times BST, subject to change):Saturday 20th September 10:45 to 15:30Sunday 21st September 10:50 to 12:10 (Jumping Group 1)Sunday 21st September 13:50 to 15:00 (Jumping Group 2)Global audienceThe dressage, cross-country and showjumping will be available to watch live online and on demand through ClipMyHorse.TV/FEI.TV for viewers in the UK and abroad.The GFS Saddles 8 & 9 year old class, which is taking place alongside the Agria FEI Eventing European Championships, will be live streamed on Horse & Country.Two decades laterIt will be the first time that Great Britain has hosted the European Championships since Blair Castle in 2015 and the first time they have taken place at Blenheim Palace since Zara Tindall won the title aboard Toytown in 2005. Zaras father Captain Mark Phillips is the cross-country course designer.Reigning Olympic championsandcurrent European winnersBritain will start as favourites, but will face stiff opposition from strong French and German teams.The British squad consists of two-timeOlympic team gold medallists, Laura Collett on London 52 and Tom McEwen riding JL Dublin, as well as Yasmin Ingham with Rehy DJ.
