The National Theatres new production of War Horse has opened at the New Wimbledon Theatre in London in the first stop on its UK and Ireland Tour.The new tour marks 110 years since the start of the First World War and follows the 40th anniversary of Michael Morpurgos global best-selling novel, War Horse, which has sold over two million copies worldwide and been published in 44 different languages.The story, which made its premiere in the theatre in 2007, was originally adapted for the stage by Nick Stafford and went on to become the most successful play in the history of the National Theatre.It won more than 25 awards, including a Tony award for best play, and has been watched by over eight million people.
