As we near the end of another vibrant summer at Narrow Water, we cant help but reflect on the whirlwind of activities that made this season unforgettable. From our fully booked childrens camps and lessons to enriching equine therapy sessions, advanced school master lessons, and busy stud work with our brood mares, youngstock, and our lovely Connemara stallion who stood at stud once again in Galway. Our riders and horses shone brightly in competitions and shows throughout the country, finishing the season off with our homebred pony, Rostrevor Ard R, winning preliminary champion and novice reserve champion at the Youth National Dressage Championships with his rider Molly Byrne! We are immensely proud of all our riders and grateful to all of our clients for continued support.As we transition into a bustling autumn/winter schedule, were excited to share that 2026 marks ten years since Michael took the reins at Narrow Water! 4-year-old Connemara gelding with an excellent pedigree. He has been cross-country schooling and is proving to be very brave in both cross-country and jumping. He has been professionally started and taken very slowly, with a main focus on flatwork. He has not been over-jumped. He has also attended dressage training shows. He is a willing and forward type, but never strong. He has a fantastic temperament and attitude, making him suitable for eventing.

What a successful weekend for Narrow Water at the Dressage Ireland National Winter Finals! Congratulations to Molly Byrne and Rostrevor Ard R (Diego) for being crowned Junior Preliminary Champions and also taking 3rd place in the Junior Novice championship. Shannon Magee and Wannabe (Whizz) also put on a great performance in the category 2 Elementary class, despite some tension creeping in. This is Shannon's first season competing at this level and Whizz's first time back in the ring after a while, so we are proud of their progress and gaining valuable experience. What a successful weekend at Marlton Stud in Wicklow Despite the early start, 15-year-old Molly Byrne dominated her first ever Dressage Ireland show and took home first place in her prelim class with an impressive score of 68%. riding Rostrevor Ard R. Shannon Magee, who also had a fantastic ride at the registered elementary level on VSH Wannabe, placing 5th and earning a qualifying score for the National Winter Finals.
