Englands endurance team has come home victorious from the 2024 Home Internationals in Co. Kilkenny, Ireland. The highlight of the endurance calendar saw the team triumph for only the fifth time in its 35-year history, showcasing exceptional skill and determination across multiple classes.The course was incredibly tough, and I am immensely proud of my teams tenacity, said Bella Fricker, Englands Chef dEquipe. It is an honour to lead such a dedicated group to this notable success.Notable achievements among the English team included Linda Cowperthwaite and Newberrys Dittos 160km win. The pair took the class for the second consecutive year. The vet praised Dittos performance, saying he showed confidence and precision over this technical and repetitive course.Philippa Verry, competing in her debut at this level, finished in an impressive third in the 80km with Stilton. Philippa described it as the adventure of a lifetime. This summer, equine welfare charity Brooke is asking tourists to look out for working animals while on holiday and sharing how to help them. Brookehas launched a campaign educating holidaymakers on the responsible use of animals in tourism and how to prevent unnecessary suffering.Equines working in tourism can travel long distances, often in harsh climates and over challenging terrain.
