He currently shares a paddock with an older Irish Sport Horse gelding. They have lived together for some time and enjoy the company. MSPCA has not introduced Pip to other equines in their care but they dont anticipate him having a hard time making new buddies in his new home!Pip stands well for the farrier and vet. He was recently diagnosed with EOTRH and will require removal of the affected teeth. This is a procedure MSPCA has scheduled. His adopter should have a close relationship with their veterarian to continue his care. Though it sounds intense, horses tend to do very well with this procedure. The removal of the affected teeth will also remove his discomfort.Pip came to MSPCA at Nevins Farm with a history of being ridden under saddle, though he has not done so in some time. They have not completed an under-saddle evaluation due to his body condition.Learn more about Pip here.In addition to Barn Banter episode 48, you can check out all previous episodes of Horse Illustrateds podcasts here. The post Barn Banter Episode 48 appeared first on Horse Illustrated Magazine.

Rider safety app Z-KUR will join us at Stoneleigh Park this November as the official sponsor of the Your Horse Live Rescue Village. Were delighted to welcome Z-KUR as the official sponsor of the Rescue Village at Your Horse Live 2026, taking place from 68 November at NAEC Stoneleigh.Designed by three doctors, Z-KUR is a Rider Safety App created to provide riders with an additional safety net when theyre out with their horse, particularly when riding alone. The app runs on the phone already in your pocket and is designed to automatically detect a hard fall, with nothing to press and nothing extra to wear. If a fall is detected, a trained operator responds and checks the alert. If the rider cannot answer or requires emergency assistance, the operator can provide 999 with the riders exact location and relevant medical details.Z-KUR has been live with 999 across the UK since July 2026, with the technology achieving 97% fall detection in its tests. To date, Z-KUR says that not a single false alert has been passed to the emergency services.Meet the team at Your Horse LiveVisitors will be able to find Z-KUR on stand M804 in the Marquee throughout the Your Horse Live weekend, just a few steps away from the Rescue Village.Short films will be running on the stand to show how the app works, while the Z-KUR team will be available to answer questions and talk riders through the technology.Visitors can also enter a rider-safety prize draw, with two rider-safety prizes plus one year of Z-KUR for ten family members and friends up for grabs. The draw will take place on Sunday 8 November.Dr Philippe Koch, founder of Z-KUR, said:My wife rides alone most days, and as a doctor I know what the first minutes after a fall mean. The horse coming home alone should not be the alarm system.Your Horse Live is exactly where we want to meet riders, and supporting the Rescue Village felt like the natural place for an emergency app to be.An extra layer of protection for ridersRather than replacing the precautions riders already take, Z-KUR is designed to work alongside measures such as a well-fitted riding hat and appropriate insurance. The app uses the phone riders already carry, meaning there is no additional device to remember or wear. If emergency help is required, chosen family members and friends can also be notified once help is on the way.EXCLUSIVE OFFERVisitors to Your Horse Live can take advantage of a free first month of Z-KUR, after which membership costs 15 per year for adults and 11 per year for children.Come and meet the Z-KUR team on stand M804 in the Marquee at Your Horse Live, 68 November 2026.Find out more and claim your first month free at z-kur.com/yhlThe post Z-KUR announced as Rescue Village sponsor for Your Horse Live 2026 appeared first on Your Horse.
